Optimal nutrition and weight loss

Optimal nutrition can play a big part in weight loss and obviously in your general health and QUALITY OF LIFE.

Quality nutrition is hard to achieve in this modern world. We are constantly being tempted with foods which are non optimum particularly with the abundant supply of sugar filled carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are much more appealing to us than the various forms and types of vegetables. Meats and fish are becoming very expensive and the animals and are loaded with weight building hormones and chemicals. Even chickens are loaded with antibiotics and chemicals. On top of this it's no wonder parents are having great difficulty in having their children build their diets around anything except sweetened carbohydrates which without exception are loaded with some form of sugar.

I don't think I have to convince you that our health is generally deteriorating with things like diabetes assuming serious proportions together with our excess weight now being accepted as normal.

Pardon me if I am wrong, but I have come to believe we have become addicted to sugar. It is unbelievable the amount of sugar we now consume, not only in its most commonly recognised form of sucrose(derived cane or sugar beet) but also in its not so easily recognised forms like fructose and dextrose. Corn syrup is cheap and is extensively used.

We are now consuming nearly half a pound of common sugar daily, if its not going into your coffee or tea its going into things like cokes or other forms of sweet drinks. Our breakfast serials are loaded with it . It goes into practically everything we eat as it acts as a cheap form of taste enhancer.

We have now reached a state where optimal nutrition is becoming a thing of the past and so is long lasting good health. Essential nutrients in the form of vitamin and mineral support is now becoming necessary in our depleted diets. Even the American FDA is now recommending we take supplements to support our poor nutrition.

I believe our deteriorating health and the subsequent massive increase in pharmaceutical drug use has been caused by the deteriorating nutritional quality of our food.

I believe this is something we have to deal with on a personal basis. After all, our personal health is something which is in our hands and I therefore suggest you have a good look through some of the other material on this site as it is all dedicated to your better optimal nutrition and your health.
