Calcium supplements information

Calcium supplements now come in many types and forms.

Calcium carbonate is the most readily available and cheapest form, but it also the least effective as the amount absorbed by our bodies is very, very limited.

There have been many attempts to improve the usefulness of these supplements by developing products that have much greater body absorption.

Among these are

Calcium ascorbate

Calcium aspartate

Calcium citrate

Calcium gluconate

Calcium lactate

Calcium phosphate

Calcium orotate.

This list gets a bit overwhelming, but there are also dozens of other types of calcium not listed here. They have little of nutritional interest so I have not mentioned them here. Never the less I shall make a few comments on those of nutritional value which you may find interesting.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THIS INTERESTING SUBJECT and particularly how it impacts on our health go to calcium ebook

Calcium ascorbate is a formulation around ascorbic acid(vitamin C) and calcium, so if you are taking vitamin C this could be an opportunity to use it to increase your calcium intake.

Calcium citrate also has the advantage of having an acid base as this improves its absorption.

Calcium phosphate is not generally used as a supplement.

Calcium orotate is widely used in making calcium supplements and there is a lot if interesting information in our Ebook on the importance of calcium orotate.

As the importance of calcium for weight-loss is now becoming better recognised. there are many high class products becoming available on the health food shelves. The better ones of these are usually a combination of various calcium products but are generally based on calcium orotate. Let me advise you though the formula should also contain Magnesium in the ratio of about 1 part to 6 of calcium.
