Magnesium citrate, magnesium our missing nutrient.

Magnesium is our absent or missing weight loss supplement.

Medical research informs us its shortage can contribute to over weight and obesity together with a whole list of other health problems far too long to cover in this short document.

Magnesium citrate can be an affective solution where a very large proportion of people are now deficient in this essential mineral and don't even know it.

Some people resort to overeating as a result of stress and Magnesium is a potent relaxation mineral, in fact you could refer to Magnesium as the relaxation mineral. Taking magnesium citrate or orotate can also help you sleep more soundly.

Magnesium is responsible for over 300 enzyme functions, it affects bone, muscle and brain so its no surprise it can assist in weight loss.

THERE ARE OVER 3500 MEDICAL REFERENCES TO MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCY. It amazes me how little publicity this receives.

Magnesium deficiency has even been linked to inflammation of the body, how bad do you think this problem is in our modern world? Things like Rheumatoid arthritis, Polymialgia, joint pain, the list goes on and on. Just like obesity and overweight, this problem is also becoming huge.

It is reported that 15% of people admitted to an intensive care unit were found to have a magnesium deficiency. It is suggested the situation was actually far worse than 15% because the testing that was done was only a cursory glance and not a serious look at this mineral deficiency.

Why are we so deficient? I recently spoke to a Laboratory Technician who's company specialise soil testing from over a very large area of country and she informed me that there is no Magnesium in any of the soils they have tested.

To my knowledge, there is no Magnesium added to any agricultural fertilisers because plants themselves don't appear to be adversely affected by its absence, but we do!. Therefore you can be assured there is no Magnesium in the fruit and vegetables we eat.

Our highly processed diet contains almost no magnesium. The following was reported in Wickepedia.

"Observations of reduced dietary magnesium intake in modern Western countries as compared to earlier generations may be related to food refining and MODERN FERTILISERS CONTAIN NO MAGNESIUM" (The capitols are mine)

This can be quite easily fixed by things like magnesium citrate at little expense.

A recent scientific review of Magnesium concluded, "It is highly regrettable that the deficiency of such an inexpensive low-toxicity nutrient results in diseases that cause incalculable suffering and expense throughout the world." (Med Hypotheses 2001 Feb; 56(2): 163-70)

You can buy magnesium carbonate quite cheaply but in this form it is practically useless because our body cannot absorb it in this form.

May I suggest you investigate our new Peptide technology product which provides a totally usable form of natural magnesium as well as a very effective form of natural calcium.

Our magnesium levels are heavily reduced by such popular things as salt, alcohol and the phosphoric acid which is found in all sorts of soft drinks like cokes. Is it any wonder we are short of this critical mineral !!.

There unfortunately is a problem associated with having the body absorb magnesium, unless you can acquire it from a natural source like our new Peptide technology. You can literally take magnesium by the bucket load without supporting supplements like vitamin D and luckily the only probable side affect will be to give you a bad case of loose bowels.

To be absorbed magnesium has to be supported by vitamins. particularly vitamin D and even then the absorption rate is normally quite low. However it can have a pronounced effect on our health in many ways See Vitamin D deficiency

Use Magnesium citrate, taurate or orotate and support it with vitamin B6, vitamin D and selenium. These extra supplements will support your bodies ability to utilise the Magnesium.

It's like it's associated mineral calcium, it's not easy to absorb unless it's in a natural form.

The recommended daily intake of Magnesium is 300 mg per day but I personally believe most people will benefit from much more, up to 1000mg per day. I recently read a report by a highly Qualified health professional who recommended much higher supplement levels.

If you take too much the worst effect seems to be loose bowels.
