weight loss programs, which way, what way?

Weight loss programs---are you Confused!----It's not surprising. I am not going to advise you one way or another but I shall give you some facts to think about.

The idea that eating fats will make you fat is an very misleading. However some fats are bad news. Trans fats should avoided at all costs. see trans fats.

However fats are an essential part of our diet particularly things like Omega 3 the shortage of which is now being found to be causing of some adverse illnesses.

For most people insulin is the major source of their problem. Insulin which is automatically produced as a result of sugar and carbohydrates has to be stored by some means. The body can't store sugar, so it is converted into insulin. However our bodies still have a problem, it cant store insulin either, so what does it do? IT CONVERTS THE SURPLUS INSULIN INTO FAT.

Sure that has been a great survival mechanism to protect us from lean times but there are not many people in our modern society who suffer from real lean times, so we stack up fat for lean times which never arrive. Unfortunately although we stack up fat we are now suffering from is essential nutrition which is a totally diferant story for another day.

I wonder where your where your surplus sugar (fat) is stored. We all have our own favourite locations but belly fat is a popular location and is often the reason people are looking for weight loss programs.

There is plenty of proof that low fat and high carbohydrate diets don't work, Have they worked on you? I guess not or you wouldn't be looking for weight loss programs

There are three types of macronutrients we can use as food, protein, carbohydrates and fats. Fat and protein do not affect insulin levels. The one that does is, you guessed it, carbohydrates! These are of course, first of all converted into sugar by our acidic gastric juices.

Insulin also plays a critical role in many other bodily functions, but I don't intend to get involved in that complex set of functions at this stage. The main thing that concerns us now is their role in the production of fat.
